Hey now, I just been informed about this topic through Stephen Fry's tweet on Twitter (yes I followed Stephen Fry on Twitter lol, he is quite a Twitter-enthusiast as well :D )
Long story short, government is trying to redevelop the former house of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, turning it into a multi-unit apartment building. Sherlockians and preservationists think otherwise, fighting hard to persuade the government to converted it into a museum dedicated especially to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with exhibits of 50,000 items of the late author. Doyle's family and relatives are also trying hard to fight the battle, but could not afford buying the house. Please note, this is the very house where most of Conan Doyle's creations came to life; this is where he wrote many of his works such as: "The Hound of Baskervilles" and "The Return of Sherlock Holmes". He also entertained numerous of notable people like Bram Stoker, J M Barrie...etc.
