My friend, Michael Tay, has won 3 awards for his short film "Wet Season". He also just got nominated for Sundance Festival 2009 under the International Dramatic Shorts category. His film is the ONLY one from Asia, woo hoo!
Wet Season / 水枪 - Michael Tay
Utilizing stop-motion animation, the production pays tribute to the young filmmaker's real-life father who passed away six years ago. Wet Season provides snippets of the relationship between Michael and someone unknown, represented by a skeleton. Watched Michael display his yearning for the person represented by the skeleton and be touched when you realise who the skeleton represented.
His short film has been included in the DVD anthology Singapore Shorts Vol. 2. Do support him and get the DVD! :)
