Well, Drinking Liberally was both well attended and weird--is that a success? It seems like it. I won't be able to be there next week, so I hope some of you all will gather the troops and go. After all, the professor will have to go and you all can't leave him alone there.
After my intersting evening with CQ, we exchanged pleasant emails +phone calls, which made me happy. It doesn't take too much, I admit. This morning, we chatted for 20 minutes in the courtyard, also pleasing. Today I gave him music and film, which I hope he will enjoy and find marked with my presence. I'd happily tell him so, so I don't feel manipulative. After all, what else do gifts do?
A relaxign and thought-provoking lunch wiht hollsterhambone made me think a little more on why certain classroom behaviors irritate me so much--we find that we are more serious in classes taught by men, in order to evade those nasty stereotypes; we want to take sex out of the classroom. At least, implicit sex. Or, at least sex that is tied only to women. If we talk about sex, if everyone engages in certain energy, that's different. But this is something against which women must fight. That's what I hate. If other women do that, then what if that energy gets deflected onto me?
I'm still not writing well on the personal front. I can't seem to produce anything interesting.
