[Action]

[When Heart lands in town today there's a little dizzle over her head. It's a summer shower, nothing serious, but she can't help but recognize that this is different from where she had been not moments before, and where she had been for a while. The concept is interesting... teleportation? But she doesn't think too hard on it. In fact ( Read more... )

[Buffy is coming back into town after another of her various errands. Girl can hardly sit still--and that's by design. She doesn't want any down time. Down time would mean she would have to stop and think about this whole mess with Jack Sparrow and God she does not want to do that.

So, instead, she strides purposefully back into town, keeping a look out for anything odd--like, say, a girl with a serious eye problem.]

Jeeze, Heart? [She switches to a light jog to catch up to her.] What happened?

[Well that jog shouldn't need to be too intense. By now she's sitting, holding the eye in one hand. What's interesting is that while the eye itself looks vaguely biological (you know, wet and stuff) the things attached to it very much do not. The clamps that hold it in place of course, and then a long series of wires wrapped along one long central wire... and pulled out of her head. This is just showing the innate design flaws she might have, probably...

That said, looking over at Buffy with her one good eye, she immediately puts on a smile] Hey there Buff! Good to see you. Well, half see you, I guess, but details~ [She even waves the hand not holding her eye playfully at that]

What happened?

[She snags a seat and tries to keep her voice somewhere near the realm of calm. Visions of April and the damage she herself had committed against the she-bot came to mind. Guilt. Concern. More guilt.]

Well, I went for a little visit to the labs. My visual record's mostly in-tact, but the audio's been completely corrupted. Guess sight's not as bad as sound, [To which she laughs a little while shrugging, eye on hand. She clearly intends for this to be a joke. Making light of the situation] Irony, huh?

Wait--you recorded an abduction?

[Oh, Heart. You're her hero. Buffy reaches and sets a hand lightly on the girl-robot's arm.] That's--wow, that's kinda amazing.

Well duh, Buff. I mean, not brains up here, remember? My core's got to record everything in order to fake it well enough.

[That said, she's now going through the visual record. She didn't think was damaged - it's certainly not corrupted - but maybe something is logically missing? That's not within her algorithms to determine though, a human might be better for that]

Oh, and you fake it beautifully. [She lays the praise on thick; after all, this is the closest thing to a windfall she has had in what seems to be a forever. But--ah, there returned the guilt. No celebrating over someone else's misfortune, Buffy. That isn't classy at all.]

Look--let's say we get you cleaned up. Serviced--or, whatever. Once you're back in full business, would there be any way to, ah, share said recordings?

Well I can play them back internally, but supply me with a computer or phone I can install my software into it and upload the video files. [A pause. There might be codec issues though. She doesn't think about that too hard though because that's not only outside of his programming, it's outside of what she, as an individual, cares that much about. She turns back to Buffy to focus the good eye on her-]

I think the clamps busted on this though. [She holds up the eye to show it to Buffy. See the little places for it to clamp on behind the eye on the more mechanical part? Those got unhooked]

If Willow were still here, she could do it. [Buffy peers tenderly at the eye and its busted clamps.] She's the one who reprogrammed the Buffybot aft--[pause. There's a strange truth that doesn't need to be quite so bluntly announced. Not yet.] She's got experience with robo-girls.

[A soft sigh and she sits back.] Know anyone here who can get this done?

Well, Winry might be able to, I guess. [...She taps her free hand's finger on her lips, ignoring the rest of what Buffy says because that's clearly meant to be a secret. Well...] 'Course, I don't know for sure on that front. She's got robo-things all over her room, but none of them have anything on my innards.

Well--an eye's kinda more like outtards, anyway. [She makes this up. She's a Slayer, not a Doctor.] If not her then maybe--oh, maybe Spock. He's all sciencey.

Well if you've got someone in mind; me? I'm totally more than game. This sort of thing would be a bit freaky looking to everyone else.

Though, it's hard to say whether he'd help or not. He's kind of a cold fish.

Well if he's unreliable we can hit up ol' Win. I'm sure she's game to give it a try at least. Like I said though, might be out of her range.
