Eeeexcellent.
So okay, I'm called back for two shows out of the six I auditioned for. Not bad; I'll admit that part of me hoped for more, but based on the quality of my preparation for these auditions this is fitting. Not that I'm complaining.
Callbacks tomorrow for Kaspar, by Peter Handke (this strange German play), and Richard III. For Richard, I'm called back for Clarence (which doubles as the London mayor; good because he gets a dramatic murder onstage); Richmond (doubles as the King; good because he kills Richard in the end in combat onstage); and Stanley, who I believe is one of Richard's henchmen. Awesome.
I suppose I am a little disappointed about Cabaret; I decided to go ahead and just do the music theatre thing, and I was hoping to get called back for maybe Cliff or Ernst or something. But there are a lot of guys better than me, so not much of a shock or a disappointment. And on the plus side, I feel a strong pull to expand my audition book now. I'll spend some time on that at the next opportunity.
Anyway, this is exciting. It's 2:30. I sleep.
