Room 206 [Tuesday Night]

Aug 14, 2007 18:46

Gavin's taken up a spot on his bed, notebook resting on his knee and pen scribbling away. He knows these communications won't ever get to Wedge but he wanted to get his good mood down on paper.

Of course, as these things do, most of his writing has turned into doodles and doodles turned into giant scenes of dorkiness.

It happens.

Rikku stopped by, wishing she'd brought cookies or something. It felt like little-sib visits should involve cookies. Maybe she'd ask other people if they generally had baked goods around for their sibs.

At any rate, she knocked on the open door and popped her head in. "Hey. What'cha up to?"

"Studying," he said and turned his notebook towards her to show the doodles. "Lots of brainpower involved."

Rikku laughed. "Nice! My notes usually have more lasers blowing things up."

She stepped in, bouncing a little. "What are you studying, anyway? And if you're busy you can just tell me to get lost. This is just a friendly neighborhood annoying-big-sister visit, thing."

"You're not," he said and grinned. "I was writing a letter to my CO. And I got distracted with doodles and planets and other things. How are you?"

"Your CO?" She scratched her head. "Doodles and planets are kinda fun. Weird that mine are usually violent. But they cheer me up."

She shrugged. "I'm pretty good. I mean, the psycho principal lady's got it in for my roommate - and everybody else, apparently - but other than that things aren't too shabby. I think I've kinda been slacking on my sib duties, though."

"Oh, commanding officer," he clarified. "Sorry. And you haven't been slacking. It's been busy and...well, nasty with whatsherface in that office."

"She's awful," Rikku said, shaking her head. "She swapped my knees around backwards and she's been hurting people and I promised Luke I wouldn't storm into her office and beat the crap out of her, but I really, really feel like it."

He debated not saying anything, adding to that anger but she was his big sister. So, he held up his bandaged hand. "She got me too."

Rikku bit her lip, and then dropped into the nearest chair with a sigh. "Same deal, right? I'm not supposed to go get my Godhand and rip her spleen out? Because if you don't have a problem with it, I sure don't."

"Probably shouldn't use physical violence just yet," Gavin told her. "But I wouldn't have a problem with it if I didn't think it would lead to more problems."

Rikku nodded quickly. "Yeah. I'd totally be on my way to her office otherwise. I'm trying to be all mature and Violence Doesn't Solve Anything but dammit, there's Luke and she's threatening Hermione and now she's messing with you, too, and ... I really, really wanna just splat her with something heavy. Ugh. I hate being mature."

She leaned back in her chair. "If you start thinking it isn't going to cause more problems and you want a posse to go with you, you'd better grab me or I'm gonna be ticked."

"You'd be there, definitely," he assured her. "Despite me thinking it'd cause more problems, that doesn't mean that I haven't had the urge to go down there and solve things myself."

"Yeah. I know that feeling." Rikku scowled. "Wow. She's a total downer as a conversational topic. What's new with you that doesn't involve scary people giving you scars?"

"Workshops are good," he said, nodding. "Well, two of them are good. One of them is scary."

"Scary-good or scary-bad?" Rikku asked, giggling. "Mine are Spying - except it's actually convincing people you're a spy, which is totally different but still cool - and Flight, which is way awesome, and this one about Superheroing with this guy that swears a lot and this other guy that doesn't talk. Man, summer term rocks."

"The sexual education one is scary," he said, making a face. "Mostly because of the teacher."
