Sometime after his workshop on making things go boom (and still covered in flecks and smudges of pink paint that wouldn't come off, damn it), Gavin found his way to the flight shed thanks to Luke's handwavy directions. He opened the shed with the keys Luke hand handwavily, whoo! given him and went inside

"Gavin?" Inara hoped she was in the right place.

"In here," he said and half stumbled out of the simulator having lost track of time. "Sorry!"

"For what? I just arrived," she told him, walking over to the simulator. "What were you doing?"

"For not being out here to say hi," he said, like it was obvious. "Hi! I was flying."
