Pretty much pointless doctor appointment today

Sep 25, 2007 16:37

So my endocrinologist referred me to another endocrinologist (his friend) to see if this doctor could give me some insight into my failing health. Well.. after waiting MONTHS to get this appointment, I find out that this doc is baffled by why his MENTOR and TEACHER would send me to him when he would not know any more than my original doctor. Oh ( Read more... )

I was prescribed Provigil once years ago and got a test dose of 5 pills (it was ridiculously expensive at the time) and I only took one pill and I didnt feel well on it and never tried it again. Then again I could have just not felt well at that time.. From what I have read the past few years about Provigil it isn't really any miracle drug.. I don;t know.. I just don;t know anyone who got results from it.

What other anti-fatigue drugs exist? Have you tried any?

Thank you for your input sweetie *HUGS*

that's what i take- provigil. when i first started taking it i felt a bit sick. i decided to take half doses instead of the recommended 200mgs at once. that worked out better for me. last year i was only taking 100mgs, but this year i'm feeling more fatigued so i'm taking 200mgs. the pills are easy to bite. i take a half a pill in the morning and a half a pill in the afternoon and so far it's working good for my fatigue at work. i still go through fatigue at times where if i'm so overly tired the pills just won't do it then i have to give up, but my hahhaa normal fatigue it's okay.

Maybe I should try it again... What does it feel like.. I mean does it make you truly awake and able to think straight.. right now I feel foggy and fuzzy a lot of the time and I can;t concentrate.. I just don;t want to feel "fake awake". I should consider trying it again...

Thanks for the info!

i dont feel fake awake at all
when it works, it works well and i cant think right. i can tell when it's starting to wear off and i need the second dose.
like i mentioned, when im overly overly fatigued to the point of no return, fatigue on top of no no no no no sleep and over worked, then it doesn't matter if i take the provigil, it just won't work. but my with normal fatigue, it's been working well and keeping me going. i can stay focused, be awake. i still nap sometimes, but my working hours when i need it most are so much better.

I just looked up the drug interactions and now I remember why i didnt try Provigil again.. it interacts with the estrogen and progestin in my birth control pill :( Well if I ever feel i can survive menstruating again, I'll come off the pill and try Provigil ..haha. I fucking hate how we have to pick and choose our demons.. I end up feeling like shite no matter what I choose...

I'm just glad to hear a good review on Provigil.. I will definitley keep in in mind for the future... Wow.. i just had way too much trouble typing this comment..
