[[Iris's Valentine's Day Box]]

Feb 03, 2009 18:44

This being her first Valentine's Day living in the city, in spirit of the holiday, Iris puts a box outside the door of the house she's living in. It's a shoebox covered in decorative pink tissue paper and hearts cut out from plain white paper, an origami iris flower taped onto the corner. A little notecard on the front reads "Iris" in purple handwriting.

The box is stolen within twenty-three minutes, and turns up the next day with a dead rat inside.

Iris decides the smarter thing to do would be to use the flower shop she works at downtown. Outside, there's a charming cast-iron antique mailbox decorated with hearts and dried flowers. The sign on it reads in flowing script, "Please leave all Valentines to the staff here." The box is accessible 24/7.
