At the top of the slide
I go swimming with my girls each week. Two weeks ago, due to a sudden growth spurt, my twins were able to go on the huge twisty water tunnel slide for the first time.
Lily went first, holding my hand all the way up the very long staircase to the top. We sat down and I took her on my lap and stared down the long blue tunnel that would hurtle us into the pool after a hair raising ride.
I asked her "Are you sure?"
The noise she made in reply was pure gold: part giggle, part utter terror. We screamed like gibbons all the way down the ride and it was great.
That's where I am right now. Right at the top of the slide. And I am checking my e mail every ten minutes.
