Is there anyway to make it?

First off: thank you for my blue dragon, demeleka!!

So, last week I turned in all my stuff for Graduate School. I thought I was finished with it forever, but no, of course not.

Today in my Behavioral Ecology class, while my teacher was in the middle of lecturing, she suddenly said, "Oh, and Rachel, I need to  talk to you after class." Of course, I immediately panic and think I'm spontaneously failing the class even though we've only had one test and I got an 85% on it. (I think she saw my face and said, "You're not in trouble, of course." but yeah. Panic.)

So after class she walks me up to her office, sits me down, and tells me that the Biology Graduate Administrator came to see her to talk about me, because apparently, even though I'd turned in all my stuff, I didn't have an advisor. Which is, you know, the first ste to getting accepted into Graduate school.

I didn't know I didn't have an advisor. When I talked to the guy I wanted, he told me that I could work with him as long as I got an Assistantship and that was that. Apparently when the Grad Administrator talked to him, though, he said he didn't have space for me in his lab. So...awesome.

Usually when applicants hit this kind of snag, their application is immediately thrown out; but they made an effort for me because I "have a great record and recommendations that said really good things about me".

So I'm hoping that my Behavioral Ecology teacher (the one who talked to me) will let me work in her lab, because even though she doesn't work with mammals, I absolutely love behavioral science and it would be no hardship to do that for my thesis (even though I don't know a thing about herpetology...)

Fingers crossed, I guess.
