Got myself two interviews coming up for teaching jobs in Japan. I'm going to have to do them in Toronto, meaning a 3 night stay at a hotel. It'll be like a mini version of the grand trip to come. The first interview sounds like quite the trial, as on the third day (if I make it to then, seems like there will be quite the compitition lined up for ( Read more... )

Good luck on the interviews! The 30-minute practice class does sound scary, but as long as you're prepared for it, you should do fine. When you get there, they'll probably expect you to be a bit nervous, but as long as you practice & also try to relax a bit, you should do fine!

And it's good seeing you again! I don't think you've posted in awhile...

Wow that was some fast typing. I truly believe you replied to my post just as I was putting it up. I dont know how that can be done, but I have suspicions...:P

I'm sure they're used to nervousness from their interviewee's, especially since the companies don't demand any specific degree or training, but I just don't like the idea of working in the dark. It's like being to told to study from any book I want, but learning which is the right book right before the exam. Anyways, I still like my Wild Bunch reference heh heh.

And it has been a while since I posted, I've been trying to work out some of the odd emotions I've been having the past few weeks due to the move, but I think writing them out is unbelievably therepeutic. Plus I've been getting into all the cool bands gothic americana have been suggesting. I want Trailer Bride played at my funeral, heh. Good stuff. Thanks for replying!

Have you checked out Slim Cessna's Auto Club or Jay Munly (& the Lee Lewis Harlots) yet? If not, I highly recommend them. You can download a bunch of Slim Cessna's & a few of Munly's songs off the Alternative Tentacles site. I've particularly been getting into Munly--his songs are quite dark & unique.

I found some of their stuff but haven't actually sat down to listen to any yet. Do you suggest anything particular to start with?

I was blasting Slim Cessna in my car today. I think I like "Pine Box," "This Is How We Do Things in the Country," & "Water into Wine" the best, but all their songs are growing on me!

Ah nice, and two of those songs are on the same album. That's the one that I'll work on then. I also found out that one their other album they do a version of 'Willow Garden'. Lord I love that song. Ever hear Nick Cave's version of it?
