momentous occasion on friday night ... i got drunk for the first time, at the ripe old age of 20! i didn't actually realise i was drunk (insisted "i'm just tipsy," as i clung to the wall for support) until later when someone explained to me, "Yes Kaitlyn, you WERE drunk last night". Buzzing with wine and vodka, I swayed through the pub feeling 7 feet tall in my heels, and I distinctly remember yelling that the building was violating regulation codes by having a floor that wouldn't stay still.
,
The pub was sadly lacking much male potential (mostly short-arses - one guy barely came up to my shoulders). But I did meet a hot Kiwi rugby player who entertained me by saying "fush and chups", and by doing the 'haka' for me (the whole thing, complete with eye-bulging). that was ... interesting. lol. When he found out I was half-American, he set off on a tirade about why he hated American accents. I couldn't believe it. So I simply mentioned sheep, and he quickly left that topic alone. Instead he surprised me by passionately discussing The O.C., and why Marissa wasn't as hot after she became skinny. I thought to myself, now he's bagging Americans AND skinny people. Why am I talking to this guy? Meanwhile, his Harry-Potter-lookalike friend was trying to chat up poor Elise next to me, who was clearly searching for an escape exit. Soon the hot Kiwi left, and I felt strangely bereft, for there is a shortage of hot, non-gay Kiwi men in my life.
So friday night was fun, but isn't likely to repeat itself any time soon, since work has decided I don't need a social life and is rostering me on friday and saturday night. Bah.
