(no subject)
I drove today for the first time since November 17. I haven't been able to drive until now because I couldn't bend my left knee enough to get the seat close enough to the pedals. And the vehicles we currently have are a bit of an impediment too - one is a standard and therefore, can't be driven at all without 2 legs. The other one is a full size van and frankly, I have trouble getting into it.
But Natasha was home this morning so she came with me to physiotherapy. Its a big 4 block drive so it seems to be a pretty good distance for me to try. My heart pounded the whole time. At one point, a half ton truck was coming in my direction and I could feel the panic rising up in me. Natasha was concerned and told me that I didn't have to drive there. It would be fine to stop and take a cab. I did it though. I figure that's the first step.
