I think it's slang for kissing. I've heard it primarily used in British things (books, magazines, etc), but I think other cultures use the term too.

mm i asked this coz i was offered a snog and i did not know what the hell it was and the person on the other end looked bemused, of course the person on the other end was an extremely attractive member of the opposite sex ;)
