Last night I had to go to a dinner for all of the people who taught Sunday School at my church. It was in this musty room with no windows that disturbingly reminded me of the place where I went to Brian's grandmother's wake last year. It was really hard to get that out of my head for awhile. There was a piano with yellowed keys in the corner and on top of it were orange roses and they looked either dead or fake. And next to the piano was a table with deserts on it and I swear they looked plastic. We had some sort of chicken swimming in lemony-chunk sauce and tomatoes full of spinach. At least the rolls were good. And I won a prize in "Catholic Family Trivia". I was so tired and sick of listening to all of these middle-aged women talk and having to explain the concept of my school two or three times. Then the lady I taught with was pressuring my mom to teach first grade next year so she could teach her daughter and she kept looking at me like "how-could-you-leave-me!?!?!?" cause I'm not coming back next year. I noticed how older women laugh at things that are really not funny. Deacon Fred was there and he made these sad jokes and everyone burst out laughing, and then Tess-one of the "directors" who didn't really do much-kept laughing at her own jokes. I was the youngest person there by at least twenty years. Except for this one kid who fit in disturbingly well with all of the middle-aged women. Luckily I had my mom to exchange glances with. I was relieved when I got in my Mustang and drove home. :o) I was so tired but when I got behind the wheel I woke up.
Dad had left mom a message that he and Anya were going to Cold Stone (she had Confirmation rehearsal last night) so I drove mom and I to Cold Stone to surprise them. They didn't see us until we were literally right in front of them. Schmidinger's mom was in there and I went to say hi. I was happy to see her, she's so nice. She was getting ice cream to bring to Schmidinger who was umpiring a little league game.
This morning Sam told me that he and some of our buddies our going to see Troy on Saturday. I'm going to go too and he seems happy about that. :o)
