Erm...Another Try!

Okay, so Jeff I hope you have survived this terrible incident and that you are well enough to read this incredibly vital information::

I gotta warn you guys, none of this stuff is respective by any means-I kind of lose track of time on vacation, and it all gets mushed together.

So, one day we went to this manatee place because apparently Florida is a huge manatee haven. They all migrate to this power plant near Vero Beach (where we stayed) during the winter because the water is warm and they can't survive in water colder than sixty-eight degrees. So they built this manatee education and sighting center thing and we went there really hoping to see some but they jipped us cause really the manatees leave around March, even though the sign says June. Alas. But we did see a lot of lizards and cool sidewalk art.

Another day we went into the town of Vero Beach and walked around. ((The place we stayed was just outside Vero-a Disney Vacation Club Resort with a bunch of "villas" and a pool and the beach right there-it was rockin.)) I felt kind of special when we went into town because I remembered everything and I felt like it was sort of a part of me. It was cool to be able to share it with Vince. We went to this restaurant and Vince and I got calzones which neither of us have ever had before-such bad Italians-and they were killer. Then we just walked around some more and we found a playground and Vince pushed me on the swings. It reminded me of the past two school dinners we've had. The first one a whole bunch of us left the church building and went to the playground to act like little kids. This year Vince and I got "married" by Tim and it was the first day I really thought I might like Vince....although, I was still dating Brian...hehe.

Okay so anyway, another day we went to Sebastian Inlet which is six or seven miles away to see the surfers. Unfortunately, there were only a few and I had a really bad stomach ache cause earlier we'd found a Dunkin' Donuts and I'd gone a little overboard. The first time I went to the Inlet, a few years ago, a puca shell bracelet had washed up and I remember being SO excited becuase I had found a "real live surfer's bracelet!!" Unfortunately, it broke a few weeks later, but it was really cool while it lasted.

Lots of romantic stuff happened but I'm gonna spare you that, cause you know...it's for me to know and you to be grossed out by. Anyway, one morning Vince and I tried to do something romantic but it didn't really work out. We woke up early to go to the beach and see the sunrise, but it was cloudy and REALLY cold. We sat there in the sand for a little while anyway, because we saw something in the water. I swear it looked just like a shark fin. For a while we thought that was what it was, then a sea turtle since that's what Vero Beach is known for, and then a bird. When it got a little lighter I went back with my binoculars and it turned out to be a buouy(sp???) Vince was kind of grumpy about that, but I was still happy cause it had really been a shark to me for a while and my imagination enjoyed the exercise.

There was a lot of swimming and hot-tubbing and water-sliding and beach-going. Vince knows a lot about wildlife. We looked for mole crabs, "tickler crabs" and I found out why he calls them that when we found a HUGE one that every time it moved in my hand I jumped cause it felt so weird! I didn't go in the water really at all because I just don't like the ocean very much, but Vince and Anya and Dad boogie boarded the last day there.

Thursday night Dad heard there was going to be a launch from Kennedy Space Center and that if we went to the beach and looked North we'd be able to see it. So Vince and I went to the pier and watched it. It was so kick ass!!! First there's this orange glow on the horizon like a miniature sun is going to rise into the night. Then you see it go up and up and you can see its smoke trail and the sparks flying and it is just the coolest thing and there isn't any noise. You can tell its getting higher cause it gets smaller, but you can tell its going farther and farther away cause it looks like it's coming back down but really its going over the curve of the Earth-is that hella cool or what??

Okay, well my fingers are tired and there is much else to say about vacation except that Vince beat the shit out of me and Anya in Monopolly twice and we watched a lot of movies and played mini golf.

When we got home I had lots of birthday cards and a dead fish waiting for me. The pet-sitter for the fish, dog, and lizard said she thinks the fish died from the two cold nights they had here, but I think it was the bulbous tumor he's had for a few months that finally got the better of him. I kind of felt bad, but what could I do?

Then yesterday I got to drive my car again-WOOT!! Ah, I love this car to death! And then I got my SAT scores which I was really happy about but it seems like everyone did better than me. I got a 1250 and I was so excited cause I'm in the ninety-something'th percentile, but then I asked other people and they all did better, and Vince says I need to work on it cause most colleges won't take that score. :o( Now I have 4 AP tests to study for, as well as write my research paper for Enviro Sci and I have a test in there on Wednesday, and a paper on The Jungle for APELA on Wednesday too, and also a SUPERPAPER from Guy that he has yet to assign and I just really don't know how I'm going to make it through these last few weeks of school. The people who are closest to me freaking out and being pessimistic and saying "You know you'll never finish that review book, why are you trying?" and "We're just going to fail." Is not helpful and it is actually pretty hurtful because I need their support and they don't listen to me when I say we can do it together. At least I'm trying. *sigh* Back to the real world.
