im a uni student doing a happy uni student dance doo bee doo dee doo
So I have wanted to go to university for a very long time.
However, when last enquiring, (last year), was told I was one point too short to gain entry via the portfolio pathway, but if I had a cert 3, I could gain entry straight away into the Prep Course (Because I didn't do TEE and im under the age of 20 so I couldn't get in on Mature Age entry).
This was just dandy as I was in the process of completing my Cert 3 in Film.
I passed that.
Then this year, my parents have been all "your not going to uni" (why oh why cant they just support me?)
To that I say it is my life and uni is what i want to do, and I can't be what they want me to be, and I want them to support me in what I choose to do.
(It'll never happen. I'll just have to prove some how, some way, in some form or another, that I am good enough and making the right choices in my life.)
So I was perusing Uni websites and found the Prep Course.
I could get in on a cert 3... I had a cert 3... I was thinking of doing it second semester because then i might be able to afford it if i get a job and save up for it,($900ish), but lo and behold, ITS FREE TO AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS! And i'm an australian citizen!
Unable to believe my eyes, I phone up and ask for more information about the prep course. It really is free to Australian Citizens! And they are still taking applications! I was so happy I cried. I discussed over the phone my eligibility for the course to double check and gave the lady my details so she can send me out the right forms to apply.
I really feel like its God opening a door.
When I first applied, I was told it costs about $900. So I thought I'd work for 6 months and save and go to uni in second semester, if at all.
But its free and I'm going first semester! Thankyou, God!
