House tour

Well, here's where I'm living:

(And I just noticed that I copied the wrong size photo links from flickr, sorry about the edges. It's too late to go back and change them all now since I'm too lazy to do it.)

First, the outside as seen from where I park:

Note you can see Mt. Yotei rising in the background, and Nana in front digging in the snow.

From the side you can really see how far the snow has piled up by the house. Again, you can see Nana playing in the snow.

Another view of the snowpile (and Nana) from the back of the house. Note that if there were no snow and I stood by the house, the edge of the roof is just out of my reach- I'm a hair under six feet tall.

Upon entering the house, you find yourself in the kitchen/living/dining room which for the winter is also serving as my office/artwork area.

A few other views of the same room from different corners:

the door on the left goes to another room, picture later. Open doorway on the right goes to the shower, toilet, and washing machine (not pictured). Nana is behind the table edge.

and now we've come full circle, looking back at the door we came in. The stairs lead up to the loft, which is mostly used for storage right now. Like the room with the closed door, I expect this to change come spring.

Nana doesn't like the stairs going up here- they're just a little too steep. That's why R2-D2 lives up here to keep an eye on things. The next shot is from R2's POV.

I keep this area clear- partly to use it later, partly in case of company; lots of room to crash! Of course, nobody's used it yet...

And behind that closed door, it's a bit of a mess right now. It's mostly being used for storage right now, though it is where my bookshelves live. Come spring/summer, I expect to make this into an office/art space when I'm not using the deck on the front of the house. For the winter I keep the door closed except for when I go in to get something, thereby reducing the amount of space that I'm heating. It's a little bit larger than it looks here- there are a couple of clothes dressers on either side that are cut out of the shot. Here it is as seen from the doorway:

And that's the tour.
