So I've had several appearances as Darth Maul for various events since March. I've been shaving my head for them rather than use a bald cap, as the makeup looks better that way. And the method I've been using for the horns works better but takes longer, involving 2-3 hours of work to put it on, and taking it off is no quick process, either. Next year it will be Episode II in the theaters in 3D, so events will be Episode II themed. All things considered, I started thinking about putting together a second costume so it wouldn't be Darth Maul all the time. At the Kobe Festival, I spoke with a guy who just put together a Jango Fett costume, but found it was heavier than he liked, so we came to an arrangement on it... I will soon have a Jango Fett costume as well. Well, after some alterations. The jumpsuit is too small, as are the shoes and gloves, so I'll have to replace all of those. But the armor bits can be adapted over, and that's the larger part of the costume.
I went to another Star Wars event last weekend, but opted not to do the Darth Maul costume. Several people commented that they were hoping I would do the Maul costume, and I had several other people that I didn't know walk up to me and ask if I was Darth Maul- they somehow recognized me from other events where I'd been under all that makeup. How does that work?
