HA! My Skool! is something like 70% female and 40% Asian. A lot of the Asian girls (especially the Koreans) are sent here for a year to get a taste of American education at a prestigious school. This makes them desirable wives, as long as they don't actually graduate and develop a career on their own. The school has been running into problems with some of them, due to the fact that many only learn a few key phrases and, when called on in class, respond (almost universally) with "Yeah, okay, thank you." Or else a lost smile and a shake of the head. Many of them will write papers in their native language and then run it through Babelfish, which is lousy to begin with, but refuses to translate Asian languages on a Mac (which the school makes you purchase.) So the teachers are forced to fail a lot of these students ( ... )

Jeez. At least the international students we get make some effort to learn english. Though I guess Singapore and Malaysian teenagers would have more exposure to the english language anyway.

Your school forces you to buy Macs? That's terrible!
