My Town

Various conversations with various friends, most recently unicorn23 and untasted, gave me the idea for this entry. Doing a Google search for Kalamazoo, MI, my hometown, brought up some pictures that made me realize Kalamazoo can actually be attractive in places and/or at times. Here are a pretty nice shot of downtown Kalamazoo, the small-to-midsized town I'm from, ( Read more... )

ask and ye shall receive, haha.
although I've lived my entire life in the Atlanta area, I consider a little suburb called Peachtree City my "hometown", so I'll show you that. I'm reallllly surprised only one of the pictures on the first few pages that came up was of a golf-cart parade, as Peachtree City is known around the state as "the place with the golf-carts". It was also voted No. 8 on Money Magazine's best places to live, booyah! haha sorry, just had to take a second to brag a little bit. sorry some of these are so huge, I don't know how to resize them in a comment!
this is right in front of our public library, where I used to work!

and an aerial, I miss all the trees!

there are a lot of really cool pictures of atlanta, too, but I would have had a much harder time narrowing it down. but definitely take a look if you've got the time!

Wow, it looks like a beautiful place. I sometimes wish I lived further south...except for the increased risk of tornadoes. We get them here in MI, too, but not as much as there I think and tornadoes freak me out, even though I love watching them on TV. : /

I don't think it's that bad down here. I know we've had watches and warnings and stuff but I've never had a close encounter, I don't think.

yep, I was pulling into the parking lot of Turner Field for a Braves game when it got called for weather, and then the next day I had class downtown and there were all these boarded up windows in the high-rise office buildings next to campus and I was like geez, I guess it was worse than I thought

Yeah, I imagine that's how it is for most people. But still, I'm a big scaredy cat. ; )
