Resolution

I have a bookshelf full of about fifty books, all but about ten of which I have not read. None of these books were attained any more recently than 2005, and at least half of them were bought circa '95. I read the first eight or nine books of Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time' series and would love to continue on sometime, and I've been working on Neil Gaiman's 'American Gods' for two or three years now. I've thoroughly enjoyed it thus far, but I haven't picked it up in months. My problem is I really suck as DECIDING to spend some time reading when I have some available. And when I do read, it's often for just ten minutes a day on breaks at work. I've given it some thought and I know I have enough time to read a little now and then, so I'm making it a resolution to finish at least one book before the winter is over. My friends who plow through two or three books a week will laugh at this, but it's a serious feat for me. It's hard to commit the time and I am not a fast reader when I do -- way too easily distracted. Anyway, that's all. I figured if I post an entry about it, I'll feel that much more obligated to stick with it.

And, once again, I leave you with the song currently stuck in my head.
