It's been a busy couple of weeks but things could be worse. Saw The Black Keys, Modest Mouse, and Jessy Wilson in Detroit last Saturday. I wasn't familiar with Ms. Wilson but Patrick Carney (Black Keys drummer) apparently found and championed her, and she's pretty good. I've never been a big Modest Mouse fan despite liking a couple of their singles over the years, but I had a feeling they were going to be great live, and I was right. With three percussionists, their thundering drums were awesome and they were just excellent overall. That said, The Black Keys were one of my favorite bands for a while back in the early 2000s and they sounded really good at the show, but their set paled in comparison. Maybe I was just a tougher audience due to the later hour and being tired after a long day. The venue was the massive Little Caesars Arena and I'd been there before, but I didn't notice just how many bathrooms there are. Definitely the best bathrooms to crowd ratio I've seen we didn't have to wait in line to pee even once. It's the little things.
Outside of that, I've been in a hair metal mood lately and had my Spotify set to "Bad Medicine" Radio for most of the week at work and it served me well but I think I'm finally coming out of it a bit. I had some time to indulge in music at home this weekend for a change and it's been great.
Well, I came in with a plan to transition from music to some other stuff, but it's 3:30 in the morning and my energy is fading fast, so time to wrap it up. Hoping to catch up on my friends feed tomorrow. Til, then...
