I fell into an alternative rock (including indie rock) mood yesterday evening, so I've been listening to the only decent alt rock station around here today. Be warned: ( Read more... )

It happens. I had a girlfriend once that wouldn't listen to an album more than once in some specified period of time. "I'm afraid I'll get tired of it," she said. "I listen to the same album for two or three weeks at a stretch without listening to anything else," I said. It's still true. She didn't even do that when she got a NEW album, which totally blew me away. Hello! New music! Intense listening!!!!!

Yeah, that's crazy. I'm with you on this one. There are times when I'm feeling one song so much that I'll put it on repeat while I sleep.

I remember once I was like, "How do you ever learn the lyrics so you can sing along with it if you only listen to it ONCE!" I forget what the time limit was. I think it was something like once in a week or something. Gah - never! We were driving south once for a short vacation, and all I wanted to listen to was "Drive South" by John Hiatt, and the rest of the album it's on. Yeah, I got to listen to it, like, twice. Suck! I bought it later, wore it out. "...one more heartfelt steel guitar, oh, girl, it's gonna do me iiiiiin...I gotta hear the sound of Telecaster through a Vibrolux turned up to ten!"
