Let the Good Times Roll. And the Trains, Too.

Yes, it's the Democratic National Convention, and I, situationgirl, am faithfully stationed on the front lines* to tell you what it's all about.

Yes, just earlier this evening A text-messaged me from a spot on the tracks somewhere between the 10th & Osage station and Colfax at Auraria. He said that the police were threatening to tear gas protesters who were blocking the train in front of him in downtown Denver. Woo. The fun begins.

So, I told A that we could go over to Farris Survival tomorrow and buy him a gas mask, but then he said he's already been gassed once or twice from driving buses through other riots. I'll get details on these "other riots" when he gets home.

Attention any Democratic rioters: Don't beat up this guy, he may be a republican, but he married a hippie democrat. Yep, I'm the Dharma to his Greg, so hands off!

Stay tuned for next week when my brother and parents report from Minneapolis on those unruly old guys in the Republican party. Breaking news, or breaking hips? We'll find out soon enough.

* The "front lines" should be understood as being at my computer with my cell phone, determined not to leave the house, if possible. And I'm in Englewood, which is not really Denver anyway.

trains and buses and riots oh my, dnc
