Very Important Work Values: Autonomy, Intellectual Development,Personal Development, Time with Family and Friends, Cultural Acceptance,
§ Altruism - being helpful to other people with little or no interest in being rewarded; feel it provides for another’s well being (physical, mental or emotional).
§ Autonomy - I am accountable for my own success and/or failure; govern my own actions. I was raised on a farm where each of the family had a job to do and so you went to do it with out assistance or direct supervision.
§ Cultural Acceptance - to be accepted for entire being; understanding bias and how it shapes our behaviors and thinking. I have always had an open view and interest in different cultures and my interests were supported by my parents. I developed friendships in high school and college with individuals from varied background. These friends were very willing to share their experiences with me.
§ Intellectual Development - levels of cognition, the progress of understanding, reasoning, and rationality; enjoy learning new information and processes.
§ Personal Development - to be free of the past by reawakening awareness of true identity in the present; new ideas, new challenges and new solutions. I was the only person of my age in the area where I grew up. So I developed ways to entertain myself, often with reading everything (dictionaries, encyclopedias) and was able to pursue and develop my interests as with the arts (drawing, music)
