After his workout with Ben, Anakin stomped his way into his office and sulked sat at his desk.

Jedi didn't wear hats, dammit. Not after the pimp hat incident one Republic Day that Mace Windu vowed to never speak of again.

Anakin flipped on his computer and began learning about safety guidelines for baby strollers.

Sam decided that a stupid hat wasn't going to stop him from necessary teacher visits, so after his classes were over, he went to Anakin's office and knocked on the door.

Anakin tilted his head towards the door. "Sam?" he called through it.

That was enough to get Sam to open the door and give Anakin a weak smile. "Um, hi. Can I come in? I don't want to interrupt anything important."

"I'm not working on anything that can't wait," Anakin assured him. "Nice hat."

[psychic_wonder]

"Yours is very nice too," Sam said with a smirk. "At least we're not alone in our embarrassment?"

[sith_happened]

"Ben had one on today, too," Anakin said. "We managed to go for an hour's worth of lightsaber practice and not have the fall off. It was rather terrifying."

[psychic_wonder]

"I'm trying not to think about what my hair will look like when it finally comes off," Sam admitted. "But that's not why I'm here, obviously. I wanted to talk to you about Peter. Or really, about whether or not there's anything I can do to help him with what you guys are working on with his abilities."

Fortunately Anakin was no longer under the compulsion to give advice about hair care regimes.

"I'm not sure," Anakin said honestly. "What kind of abilities are you working with these days?"

[psychic_wonder]

"Oh, well, I don't...I'm just me," Sam said. "I don't have any great abilities like Peter does. But I still want to help. I'm not worried about getting hurt, not like he is."

[sith_happened]

Anakin's eyebrows went up. "Uh huh. So you're volunteering to help a guy learn how to control his scary mind powers even though you can't really heal yourself." He tapped his fingers against his desk. "You can see how this doesn't sound like the most brilliant plan to me, right?"

"Peter has a healing ability. If anything happened, he'd fix it."

It was possible that argument sounded better in his head.

"So he'd hurt you and then have to fix it? No," Anakin said firmly. "Absolutely not."

[psychic_wonder]

"But what if he doesn't hurt me? It's possible everything could go fine. I mean, that's the point of his practicing, right?" Sam asked.

[sith_happened]

"That's the point of practicing with me," Anakin corrected. "Because if something doesn't go right, I can fix it. Imagine the guilt Peter would feel if he hurts you accidentally, though."

[psychic_wonder]

"I keep telling him he doesn't have to feel guilty," Sam said, before sighing. "I guess that's not really fair to him though, is it?"

[sith_happened]

"I think telling Peter not to feel guilty about hurting someone is a little like telling him not to breathe," Anakin replied.
