Anakin had been in the tuxedo shop alone for five minutes and had already been ogled helped by three different shop assistants.

"No ruffles," he said, making a face. "And no hats. And nothing that shiny."

He kept glancing more and more desperately towards the door, hoping a groomsman or two would save him.

As if the universe was listening to Anakin's hopes, Kawalsky walked through the door. He didn't really look like he fitted in since he was wearing a t-shirt, jeans and a jacket, but he thought he looked better than a seemingly uncomfortable Jedi in the shop.

It was still weird seeing an older Anakin and not the broody Padawan he knew first and rickshaw raced with. "Honey, I'm home."

Anakin gave him a huge grin. "I've never been so happy to see you in my life," he said. "Please tell these people my religion prohibits crushed velvet."

"I'm wounded that you're not always so happy to see me," Charlie replied. "Folks, Anakin here is a former monk." Close enough. "He found the girl of his dreams and he's gonna marry her, but not in crushed velvet or ruffles or anything shiny. Go easy on the guy, okay? Nice, simple outfits." He gave Anakin a look. "Possibly something with capes."

Anakin laughed. "But no underwear on the outside. We don't need to look like superheroes."

Anakin smiled wryly but didn't comment on it. "What would you recommend?" he asked, waving at the coats. "You're a local."

Comparatively, anyway.

"Despite all the talk that's probably gonna go on while we get worked up about dressing up for the girls, I'd say keep it simple. Figure out a color that goes with the dresses or go for black and white or black and gray. Simple's good for looking good and for moving around in case of alien invasion." He shrugged. "I'm just sayin', with this crowd, anything's possible."

"It's simple for a tux. You gotta remember, all this stuff comes from a hundred years ago when dressing yourself up was supposed to be all complicated and took time because they had no TV or cell phones to keep them busy or make them want to hurry up. Have you thought about going with a robe if you feel better in it? It'll be different, but I don't think Rory would kill you so long as it's the right color. Girls are big on colors."

'The first time I got married' thing was new to Kawalsky and the surprise reflected on his face for a moment before he shrugged and went to clap Anakin on the shoulder. "Then you'd better get used to the complicated mess that we call simple tuxedos. Shirt, vest, jacket, tie, pants, shoes. Maybe a hat. We'll get to that later. Don't go anywhere near stripes, no matter what Crichton says. You'll look like a gangster and that's not a good thing outside of a costume party. Plain colors. Go with what looks good."

"No offense, but glares have never worked on Crichton. Ever. And besides, it's hard to take a glare seriously from a guy who made his own rickshaw race car noises."
