River didn't have a particular reason to stop by, but then she felt she didn't really need one. She stopped on the threshold.

"Pacing helps?"

"A little," Anakin admitted, with a very small smile. "Hello."

River entered and took a seat on a chair, leaning one arm on the backrest. "What's bothering you?"

"An unwelcome presence on the island," he said tightly. "Do me a favor and don't go out alone at night for a while?"

She could defend herself, and she knew Anakin knew that, so River raised an eyebrow. She nodded however.

"Thank you," he said with a smile. "Angelus has a...fascination...with toying with women. I'd like to avoid it being anyone I know."

"Not an angel then." River held back a chuckle.

Anakin's expression didn't change. "The last time he was on the island, he killed a student. Nearly took a couple more."

She frowned. "Hunt him down?" Her thoughts immediately went to Adah, who wasn't able to defend herself physically.

"That's my plan," Anakin said, eyes going very hard. "I made a promise."

"Good." There was an offer of assistance in her mind, but she had a feeling it was pointless even to ask. Not that she minded. River smiled.

"You're not coming," Anakin said, giving her a small smile. "He's fascinated by psychics, too, and you're far too dear to me."
