Anakin was running a little behind today (for some reason Rory hadn't been all that anxious to let him leave the house...), but after getting a slightly garbled version of what had gone on last week, he had a feeling that people might be a little interested in checking in on him today

Jaina's own memories from the last week were vague at best, but for some reason she'd just found that she really, really wanted to hug her grandfather. So the second she sensed him on island, she went down to his office to do just that.

Incoming, Anakin.

"Ooof," said Anakin, hugging her back. "Hi."

[solo_sword]

"Hi. ...So how are you?" she said, not letting go quite yet.

[sith_happened]

"Missed, apparently," Anakin said with a little smile. "You?"

[solo_sword]

"Oh, you know. Really confused and not that happy about it," she said, pulling herself away.

[sith_happened]

Anakin gestured to the coffee, then the empty chair. "Talk to me."

[solo_sword]

She would take both those things, thank you very much. "Well, I definitely spent the last week at home, except I was here, except I wasn't at home. I feel like I've had too many concussions."

Also she felt the need for glompings before hellos.

"I think I need more coffee before I can comprehend that," Anakin decided. "I don't remember last week at all either."

[solo_sword]

Jaina frowned. "I haven't listened to radio yet," she said. "I'm hoping there'll be an easy to understand guide to the last week in there somewhere."

"That was my hope too," Anakin admitted. "Rory was really happy to see me. I think I was dead for the week, which is...unnerving."

[solo_sword]

Jaina frowned.

And got up to hug him again.

Look, even aside from the fact that dying = hugs, psychological trauma + grandfather dying in an alternate reality = bigger and more clingy hugs.

"It didn't stick," Anakin said softly as he held on tightly.

[solo_sword]

"Don't care," she decided.

[sith_happened]

"Not the greatest July ever for you, huh?" Anakin understated.

[solo_sword]

"I've had better," Jaina said, letting him go again. "I'm sure it gets better tomorrow, right?"

Yeah, right, she already knew the anniversary of Myrkr was next week. It was already the first time in years that it hurt like it used to.

"...I generally just hold out until September," Anakin admitted.
