A wince flicked across his fingers as he sat. Even with help, the area across his midsection flared in protest as he sat up. Water was sipped at - he didn't dare gulp just yet - and he felt the ache in his throat diminish somewhat. A clearer voice, though not fully healed, replied to the question posed. "Aye, orcs. It is the only reason I wish to ( Read more... )

Aearlin gave a slight nod at the idea of questions. Indeed, he had them. Such as... "Can I take a bath without destroying the work you just did?" Ah, so there was no hint as to his past in his questions. At least, not that one. Elrohir smiled slightly and nodded.

"You may take a bath, so long as the water is not overly warm. If there is no steam, the water should be cool enough. Otherwise, the wax might liquify again, and leave your wounds unprotected." This won Elrond's son a happy smile, though it remained somewhat subdued. Still, there were other questions he had.

"And... when do you believe I will be well enough to return to the mountains? .. Not, that I mind it here, of course... but..."

Elrond's son laughed softly as he cleaned up the items he used to attend to the other elf. "I understand. Your home is your home - and you sadly will not be returning to it anytime soon. I'd give at least two weeks before attempting to leave. Those were not small wounds, my friend. And please, take things easy for a week - and very easy through the next few days - you do not want to reopen your wounds by popping those stitches, do you?" Aearlin shook his head, trying not to laugh. He liked this elf - there was humor to his seriousness, and it helped his own spirits.

"Then.. my next question would have to be to Silinde." A wicked smile graced his lips then, and he canted his head ever so slightly toward the door. "Care to help a crippled elf to the baths? You wouldn't have to stay if you didn't wish to. But.. you heard Elrohir. I'm an invalid, apparently." Followed swiftly by a faux-pity-me sulk.
