Aearlin & Silinde - The Begining - 02

Portions of Mirkwood were covered in shadow now, and though guards were needed, Silinde was granted with a reprieve of the daily fight against the ever-growing threat. Royal guards seldom were awarded time off, but the Mirkwood warrior was the lucky chosen ellon to deliver Thranduil’s message to Imladris.

It was a swift journey to the elf haven of Imladris, and one Silinde was grateful for. The constant battle against the shadow was draining to the Mirkwood warrior, and a change from that was most welcomed. He had a month’s time before he would be required to return to his duties as royal guard but even that could not dismay the blond archer. Rivendell was before him in all her splendor, and one could not help but stop and look in awe. He had arrived.

He was kindly escorted by the border guards to the stables, where he left his beautiful mare. She would be taken care of during their stay here, and that was a comfort to the Mirkwood ellon. Vanya neighed softly in agreement with her master, allowing the stable ellon brush her white coat. Silinde gently stroked her neck, whispering “I shall see you soon mellon nin” before leaving to change himself.

It was refreshing after his long journey to sit in a hot tub of steaming water. It soothed the aching muscles in his back and legs, as well as washing away the accumulated dirt. But unfortunately, the Mirkwood ellon had dwelled too long in the luxury of his bath, and had missed the Lord of Imladris. Silinde was told that Elrond could be found at the healing wing of the house, for he had a badly injured patient that needed great care. What exactly happened to this ellon could not be discerned from the staff, and Silinde decided that most were rumors to quench the desire to know.

Donned in is warrior garb, Silinde made his way to the healers, scroll securely in his hand. The contents were undisclosed to him, but still he knew it was nothing of utmost importance. It was merely a correspondence between two great leaders of different realms. His job was to protect, and not ask questions, and so he did his king’s bidding without a second thought, though the idea of visiting Imladris helped sway his decision.

He reached the wing, looking around for the great half-elven leader. Elrond was no where to be seen, but the blond ellon did hear a groan. Silinde decided that he should help, since there seemed to be no one around at the moment, and quietly entered the closed room to see the most beautiful ellon he’d ever seen.
