Oh forgot to mention, last week Saturday I went and got my bi-annual Skywarn Weather Spotter training by the Washtenaw County Emergency Management division. My parents and a co-worker of mine came out. It was a nice little 2 hour presentation and a good reminder about how severe storms and tornadoes form. Earth Science, can you dig it?

This weekend my parents and younger sister went out to my aunt and uncle's farm in Canada for Easter. Or Egg-Laying Bunny Day as Topher and others would call it. Steve and I just kept it local. We rented more movies: "Elizabeth" (the one with Cate Blanchett), "Kill Bill Vol.2", and then "Girl with a Pearl Earring". I've seen Elizabeth and I always love it. Great acting and directing. Kill Bill I've seen before and still love it. Oh, Quentin Tarantino, how you make me squirm.

Girl with a Pearl Earring, I'm disappointed in. Scarlett Johansson is certainly hot and may be a good actor, but this movie was nothing more than her all wide-eyed with her mouth open in a look of shock and mortification the whole time. She's supposed to be a maid in this painter guy's house, but she looked very clumsy and unfamiliar with her maid-duties. I think it was poor directing, with a fair script that needed help. The supporting actors were all infinitely better than the leads. As much as I love chick-center, costumed-period films I'll never get those 2 hours back.

Other than that, Steve and I went to his parents' place for dinner yesterday. Tasty food. Tuesday through Friday I'll be out in the field doing some quarterly sampling and monitoring at one of out landfills. Hopefully it won't be too cold. Glad I hadn’t dry cleaned and put away the winter gear yet.
