Ever have a bizarre, unexplainable case/client/situation on the job? Has anything ever just been too weird or uncomfortable for you? Talk about it!
This question actually makes me laugh. Not because it's particularly funny, but because the irony is outstanding. When I worked with the FBI, the very basis of my job was looking into cases deemed "too weird". There was not a day that went by where Mulder and I were not faced with something weird, bizarre, or entirely unexplainable.
The Flukeman, the Mothmen, the Rain King, the ghosts that stole Christmas, the Great Mutato... really, the list is nearly endless. Nine years worth of cases ranging from simply odd to... whatever the other end of the spectrum is. I've had my staunch belief in science questioned more times than I care to recall.
Each time my beliefs in science and faith were questioned, it was undeniably uncomfortable for me. I grew up believing in two things: God and science. Those two beliefs are often mutually exclusive, though just as often, they can compliment one another. Each time my faith was challenged, I had my science to fall back on, and vice versa.
