You know the moon is full and while she is lovely to see and feel, I cannot ignore the pull of her power over my emotions. Maybe today is not the best day to say this, but I have to get it off my chest before it burns me from within and leaves me no more than scattered ashes.
St. Patrick's Day...
Luck-O-Th'-Irish...
Kiss me I'm Irish...
Irish for a day...
Irish in training...
But the best one of them all is....Irish Blessings to you!
Do you understand why I am pissed over these buttons? Would you like to know?
I am VERY proud of my Irish Roots. Year after year I have sat by and listened to people think it was all fun and games when they were drinking their green beer and eating their green foods, while making sure to wear something green so they didn't get pinched.
Why?
Saint Patick's DAy is a Catholic Holiday for a man who "drove the snakes" from Ireland. So why is it suddenly holy for people to get tossed and then say they are Irish? They mock my people when they do that. It is a stab to the heart that they don't know the real reason behind the Sainted Day...
Those "Snakes" were the last of the Irish Pagans that were refusing to be swayed by the Holy CAtholic Empire. But Slap God's name on it and you could run around with feathers hanging out of your ass and tell the world it is in honor of the day that the Trail of Tears began!
I mean come on, don't you get it? I am so glad that the Native Americans were able to stand up for themselves, but what did they really get? Some second rate land, some tax allowances, and a snide glance when they were allowed to lead themselves. That doesn't really mean crap. There is at least some hope for our Native Brothers and Sisters, because we at least understood what we were doing as wrong!
But why won't anyone stand up for Irishmen and Women? Why don't we celebrate the day that we dropped the Bomb? It was for their own good right? Or are we all so Blinded by GOd that we can't see the damage we do in God's Name...
Oh sure, they will tell you they were trying to bring 'civilization' to the barbarians, but if we have to slaughter a few hundred then we will call it a travesty...kill a few hundred in secret and it gets a man sainted!
Maybe I am over reacting to this whole damn thing, but I don't care! I refuse to speak to ANYONE who celebrate's St. Patrick's Day as any thing other than a day to mourn those poor souls that were just more fodder for God's Machine! The color of the day should be black and the buttons should read, weep for me, I'm Irish!

Anyway...Just had to vent!
