Anyone who knows me knows what an obsessive fan I am of Matthew Bourne and his dance company - I will go into raptures over the magical 'male' Swan Lake, the passionate CarMan, the enchanting Nutcracker! and the incredible Highland Fling, so a new Matthew production is always going to be something special. Now, at last, after 8 years of ( Read more... )

Bourne has a penchant for the dark and occasionally macabre in his works, and in his own life, which makes sense of the pairing with Burton. Bourne collects ventriloquists' dummies and "battered old toys with bits missing". Last year, he bought a house and has been delighted to discover 20 gravestones in the cellar. He was drawn to the property by a well-preserved 17th-century gravestone in the garden. "I found that very appealing. I think Tim would love the house - it's got a lot of history." He recounts that Charles Wesley stayed in the house in the 18th century and penned "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" while there.

How especially kewl is this?!!!! :o)) I want to visit Matthew's new house!!!!

I think Matthew and the beautiful (and OMG he really is!) Arthur may have gazumped you there!!! Who knew that you could still buy 17th century graveyard gardens with tombstones in the cellar? *sigh* If only I could win the lottery...

Come see Edward with me in next March?

Oh yes, yes, yes, please :D How much are tickets? What to wear, what to wear?!

When I'm wealthy and famous you can come and live in my evil mansion. To be true Romantics, though, we need a little red-headed man to slide down the banisters naked and hold drunken poetry recitations.

(You don't get enough Arthurs around now, do you? Especially not beautiful ones. Hmm.)

Yay - you must come!!! :o)) Can't remember how much the tickets are (lol, haven't paid for them yet!) but it's not until next March, so I'm sure we can sort that out sometime in the next four months...!

No, not so many Arthurs any more, but this one has the most truly beautiful and sparkling eyes I've ever seen!!! They really glitter and they're just mesmerising! LOL, lucky Matthew! ;o) Behold the lovely Arthur:

Ooh, and have you met the lovely Arthur?

Heh, yes, I was going to nominate Tim!

I found an excellent quote on amazon, almost perfectly describing my dream home:

"Dante Gabriel Rossetti's house in Chelsea was a bohemian enclave in Victorian London. The rumours it aroused mixed fact and fiction to tell of love affairs between artists and models, of noctural rambles and drunken poetry recitations, of the house's collection of Oriental china, medieval musical instruments and exotic animals."

I know, him again, but he's cool. And I want his house *and* his lifestyle.
