Yes, I'm bad at updating; no, you don't get a promise that I'll update more because every time I do that I completely forget. :-P Anyway, this is the requested ranty post about my #*&^ public policy class with happy things put in to calm me down and remind me that really, it's just one class. Here is me looking rather crazy. I did not wear my hat (because I was trying to be book-faithful, not cover-model-faithful, a bit) and my coat is more of a rain-trenchcoat, but I do have rings, a pentacle, a shield bracelet, and a blasting rod FTW. Didn't take the blasting rod on Franklin street.
2: Quit Firefox. Go to the User folder in your ITRC backup, then click in the address bar and add \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ to the end and hit enter. You should see a folder called random characters.default . That's your old profile folder that contains your bookmarks and everything else. Inside it should be a file called "places.sqlite", that has all your bookmarks.
Open up your start menu and paste in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\, you should get your new profile folder. Open that up and copy in the old places.sqlite file. That should get your old bookmarks back; if that doesn't work we could also try to switch profiles entirely or merge in old bookmark backups.

Anyway, I will definitely try that as soon as I'm actually going to retain data for longer than a week. The laptop is being possessed enough already, but really, thank you: I'll check again the second my laptop is back.
3: I'll keep you in mind if the group can actually get the metaphorical ducks in a row.
