Migraines suck. I was out all day Thursday and about 90% of the day Friday (I tried to make it to work...) with a migraine.
Saturday, I was going stir-crazy, so I tried going shopping. A new pair of much-needed shoes at Kohls and a couple of not-so-needed items at Target later, I was back on my way home from the pharmacy with "preventative" meds in hand. (they didn't work so well this month)
Yesterday, cabin fever was present again, so I cut the grass in 15-minute intervals. I'd cut for 15-20 minutes, then come inside to cool off and drink a couple of glasses of water. Then I'd go cut for 15-20 minutes again. It only took me about 2-2.5 hours to get the whole yard done, but it's done. I can mark that off the list for a little while longer.
Today, I'm accomplishing a few of the things I should have done all weekend. I did find a new time-saving thing. Since I've had nothing better to do all weekend than watch some television, I've been watching the commercials (I usually watch things delayed so I can fast forward through them).
Super Suppers has been advertising a lot lately, and when I tried to find a location near me, it turns out there's one between my office and the DeKalb County Courthouse! (well, ok, just a couple of blocks out of the way, but still...) It looks like they prepare all of the ingredients for you, and will (for a fee) even get them all ready for you, and you pick them up and are on your way. When purchasing 12 entrees, it comes out to be about $3/serving. I like to cook, but I hate going through all of the motions for just me. I'd rather throw a dinner party and have a bunch of people around for a meal with no leftovers than to cook for myself. Plus, this way I could try a bunch of new things and possibly new cooking techniques without any major drawbacks.
If nothing else, it could be fun to try for a couple of weeks or so, just to see if it might work for me. You never know... (besides, that would only be one trip for about three weeks worth of entrees for just me)
