The streets were dismal and humidly misty as she paced down their cobbled twists and turns. She never could quite grasp the why anyone would want to follow the path of power - it was honest to gods boring. Just like the management of her current nightly activities. Exciting as stocking shelves at a grocery store, straighten here, refill there, re-arrange that shelf...
Devony rounded a corner, face contorting at the stench of piss. She was looking foward actually, to getting the information on this antagonist in Seattle. The profiling seemed at least an interesting puzzle or application of brains and it meant something because it wasn't just a move on a chess board. It was personal, with real meaning to those she interacted with. Maybe it was unpleasant and guesome, but it was at least real - and that counted for a lot in this world of facades.
The arched threshold was impressive as she stood gazing up at it before wiping her feet and entering the door.
She thought about all the things she'd rather be doing.
