Old Friends
Within the past 2 days I have come in contact with 2 old friends from high school. It's been about 5 years since I've talked to either of them. What's weird is the difference in the both of them now. One of them has totally taken a turn for the worse. Every picture on his Myspace is with him drinking, drunk, and some other things I won't mention. :( Makes me sad to see. On the outside he looks "happy", but you can tell how miserable he is just by the look in his eyes.
The other friend was one of my best friends growing up. We were friends until we were about 4 years old and then she moved away. 10 years later my Mom moved us to another city outside of Houston and we ended up living next door to each other again. It was wierd. We lost touch ....unfortunately, when we were seniors in high school. Our lives were very different. But, today I received a email from "Classmates.com" with her contacting me. I never read those and usually erase all of them. The fact that I looked at it today was crazy. She is now a Christian and wanted to thank me for being her first link to the Lord. AS I thought about it when I read that, I couldn't really recall me being a huge witness to her about God, but I guess she saw something. I was so humbled and encouraged.
I guess it's just really wierd to see all of this now. The first guy...well, I am sad for him. I pray that he finds God. My second friend.....Camille....Gosh I am so happy for her. It makes it worth it. For all you recent high school graduates....college students....or anyone...just know that everyone you come into contact with will someday have a story. To be able to be a part of that story is amazing. The fact that it was because she saw God....well it doesn't get any more humbling than that.
