The Bachelorette Party, dom dom dom!
I’m listening to “Why Bother” on Weezer’s Pinkerton album. I bought this because it reminded me of you. We were in the backseat of Brandon’s car, and Krystle and Brandon were arguing about skipping one of the first three songs. You and I were holding hands and stealing kisses cause I thought it would be rude to make out in front of them and I was nervous. I liked the CD, but I bought it because it reminded me of the dashboard-lit darkness in the leather benchseat with you. I couldn’t tell you how long the drive was or even where we were headed, but I can still feel your cool hand in mine and your thumb rubbing the back of my hand. And now I want to ask you, how can you stand not to miss me?
I’ve had a busy weekend! Friday was Kasey’s bachelorette party and I probably drank the second most I’ve ever had in my life. We were supposed to hit the House of Blues so after my closing shift at work, I changed in the bathroom into jeans and my black studded tanktop. I popped in my lip ring and fixed my new hairstyle into a half ponytail so the red dye showed, and I tugged my bangs flat. I walked out to Derrick’s hundred millionth barely-joking invitation for a coffee date. He said he’d buy me a drink in that outfit and I told him I didn’t have any trouble getting free drinks in this outfit. Kasey and the ladies decided to stay in for the night so I picked up some mixers from the gas station on the corner of her neighborhood in Friendswood and headed for the party. Once the drinks were flowing, we got into a giggly game of Never Have I Ever. I won =) but as payment for my lead, I ended up hitting more than a handful of “Take a Drink” and “Do a Shot” spaces. I ended up having a strawberry margarita, some banana pina colada thing, a really strong Cape Cod, and probably more than 4 or 5 shots during that game. Kasey masterd the pop, lock, & drop it during our dancing in the dark session, Kim gave up on the hula hoop, and three of the six of us ended up lying on the floor laughing and watching the ceiling fans spin for a good while. I didn’t drunk-txt Jeff for once (Good for me!). I did drunk-txt Kevin, Joe, and Cherry a whole lot though. Oopps..? I don’t guess that they minded though. When the boys got home, I did two more double shots and a single shot of coconut rum thanks to Daniel’s brother, Russell. Ross insisted that I stop drinking since I had to open and be at work in 3.5 hrs and I assured him I wouldn’t overdo it. Well… that’s when it started to go downhill. I threw up in the sink…. And I pretty much spent the rest of the night on the futon puking into a trashcan while Kevin brought me water, rubbed my back, and tried to convince me I couldn’t go to work like that.
At 7:05 Linda, my store manager, called from work. I answered with “Hi Linda, I was supposed to be there at 6, huh?” “Yes, ma’am”, “Ugh… Ok. I’m on my way”. What a miserable day that turned out to be. I vomited all through my shift in between bagging feeder fish and crickets for customers. A woman in the Women’s bathroom even handed me a wet paper towel to put on my neck cause she listened to me throw up 6 times consecutively. If I was standing, I was nauseous. Brandon helped me a lot by bagging fish for people between his Doggie Obedience Classes. Ross and Linda ended up sending me home early. On my way out, I puked next to my car =( . It wasn’t very cute. I took a nap in my front seat with the windows down even though it was super hot out. I couldn’t drive and all I had to do was put the seat back and I was out. My hangover lasted well into the night and I got into my pajamas as soon as I got home. Of course the family made seafood for dinner. Ugh. Sunday was Kasey’s wedding and by then I felt a thousand times better. I barely made it to the ceremony even though I showed up 5 minutes before the time on the invitation. The reception was fun and I think we got a lot of good pictures. The wedding was wonderful aside from the heat at the park. I think they’ll have a long and successful life together! Yay Kasey and Daniel!!
