As we find ourselves once more in the middle of another week of new arrivals to the City, I feel it prudent to once more remind of the church's shelter and soup kitchen. We offer beds, bedding, and a hot meal at no charge for those who find themselves alone and require a safe place to sleep until they become settled and make other arrangements.
All shelter guests will be advised of the conduct to be followed while on church property upon check in, which I will also post to the network, and are listed on the church bulletin board along with local job openings:
1. No violence on Church grounds.
2. No theft from the Church, no theft from people in the shelter or soup kitchen.
3. No sale or use of drugs or alcohol on Church grounds.
4. No solicitation or sexual activities on Church grounds.
5. No feeding from the persons or spirit of shelter/soup kitchen guests, volunteers, or Church staff.
6. If security tells you to leave, then go. Do not cause incident.
Once again I want to thank everyone lending their aid to this effort, and wish to restate that volunteers are always welcome, along with those who would like to donate supplies or monetarily. In addition to being a crucial part of the shelter program, I should like to remind everyone that acts of charity are also part of the season of Lent.
Lent begins today with Ash Wednesday, a day during which we are meant to take stock of our spritual lives. This is a time of reflection, when we should focus not only on repentance for our sins, but decide upon our other spiritual goals and how we will pursue them.
((OOC: She's decided to work on her temper and abstain from bitching at people... yeah, let's just see how long that lasts. >.<))
