I have a list of individuals who had previously expressed interest in volunteering for the New Arrival Outreach Program that I'd like to check in with to see if they're still interested.
Quite frankly... it could have been better. The people here from my world at the time weren't exactly individuals I was on great terms with, and I came from a very bad day in my world's history. But at the same time, it was easier to get settled in the City in some ways than it is now. There was no rent, or money, and you could pay for everything with pocket lint and pebbles and stuff.
Well, I do have someone here whom I'd rather not see alive and well, and the feeling is mutual, but I'm pretty sure he's not going to do anything drastic to get rid of me.
I assume that someone realized that economies don't really work like that?
I've got someone like that. Hinders things when they'll come back twenty-four hours later.
Who's to say, it was sudden. One day money rained from the sky, the next, retailers started charging and we recieved rent notices. While it did create some problems, there was the upside that gave more people incentive to get jobs, which gave them something to do. It was my first time working for profit.
I'm a Religious Sister with the Roman Catholic Church and field agent for one of her lesser known agencies. We take vows of poverty, but our basic needs are provided for by the church and property is meant to be shared among those in our orders.
