...um, City? What are your feelings on possible community outreach programs?

Would you be willing to volunteer your time to such projects? Would you be willing to donate financially?

Currently on the drawing board is a program that would provide a temporary place for new arrivals to The City. Longtime citizens may remember a time when all a person had to do was walk into an unoccupied apartment and it was yours, free of rent for however long you should stay, and a meal could be purchased with the lint from your pocket. Unfortunately, times and whims of the City administrators have changed, and this is no longer the case, though still most people arrive with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. The creation of a monetary system was also the creation of haves and have nots, and while there is no shortage of jobs to be had (and with them the ability to take oneself from the latter catergory), there is a still a question of finding them, and for those recently pulled here, this may take a few days while they grapple with the greater problem of simply understanding a strange new place that may undermine all they've ever known. Some arrivals find friends or otherwise situate themsleves within hours, but for those who do not, the proposed program would serve as a net.

Thoughts on this? We were all new once, and the influx of the recently arrived is a regular occurance, making this an easily identifiable issue for which to direct assistance. But what other issues do you think would benefit from organized good works?

Any feedback offered is very valuable, and I thank you muchly for it.

EDIT: Also, what is the opinion on the idea of a soup kitchen? Would anyone be willing to volunteer cooking services to one, and/or to the support center?

feedback plz?, because we care you guyz, community outreach, church, help plz?
