UPDATED: Yuletide letter now here! Thank you so much for your patience. ♥

Dear Yuletide Author,

First of all, thank you so much for writing me a story! I'm really excited. :D

I wanted to start off by saying that I'm, honestly, pretty easy to please, in that my tastes are wide and varied. If you read my signup and have a great idea for any of my requests, please run with it! I will almost certainly love it. The rest of this letter is just there if you want a little more guidance (and to that end, I throw out a lot of ideas in the hopes of inspiring you--but please don't feel that you have to try to incorporate everything!). I'm just happy with the idea of getting a story for one of my favorite rare fandoms. (And I am equally excited by all four prompts.)

With that said, a few more details:

General Things I Love

I am a fan of pretty much all kinds of fanfic genres--there are very few "types" I hate. I like slash, het, and gen. I like plotty stories and slice-of-life and character studies. I like romance, action, humor, and mystery. I like sweet romance and shameless smutty PWP and fade-to-black and entirely romanceless stories.

I like character interaction and exploration, witty dialogue, action, worldbuilding, and anything that gives me a further glimpse into the worlds of the stories.

General Things I Don't Love

I am not a huge fan of crack-fic or crossovers. I'd prefer to stay away from gore, non-con/rape/dub-con, waste-related bodily substances, necrophilia, and bestiality. Annnd... that's about it. Apart from that, I am a happy camper.

On to the specific requests!

Elfquest: Nightfall and Clearbrook

Original prompt: Elfquest is an old favorite fandom, and let me start out by saying that practically anything you could write with these two characters would make me happy. :) Nightfall is one of those characters who is dear to my heart: a warrior and fighter, fierce but kind, with a steely eye and a warm and welcoming heart. Clearbrook, too, is a warrior, but one with wisdom and experience and long knowledge to guide her hand.

So, like I said, I'd be happy with practically anything about the two of them, and if you have an idea of your own please feel free to run with it! But if you want more guidance, I'd love a story in which Clearbrook acts as Nightfall's mentor in some fashion. Maybe it's pre-Quest, with Nightfall a young hunter learning the ropes and Clearbrook teaching her (Nightfall is, after all, about Cutter's age...). Or same timeframe, but Clearbrook is giving Nightfall romantic advice. ;) Maybe it's during their time in Sorrow's End, when both of them are adjusting to a settled desert life as opposed to a more precarious (and exciting) forest life. Maybe it's after One-Eye's death and the tables have turned, with younger Nightfall comforting Clearbrook. Maybe it's later, in the Kings of the Broken Wheel timeframe, and Clearbrook (who is herself a mother) is guiding Nightfall when it comes to pregnancy or raising Tyleet. Or maybe something else entirely!

If you want to go in a shippy/pairing-y direction, I'm pretty easy to please, since most elves are both bisexual and polyamorous. ;) Feel free to depict either of them with their canonical love interests, non-canonical love interests, or one another! The only thing I would ask is that there be no rape/non-con. And I would also be perfectly happy with a story that was completely gen.

There's honestly not much I can add to this! The World of Two Moons is an old favorite setting of mine--I read Elfquest for the first time when I was about thirteen and I wanted to be a Wolfrider so badly. ;)

I particularly enjoy all the wonderful female characters--especially the two I requested, but not just them. I really like the fact that Nightfall is a warrior and hunter and her canonical partner, Redlance, is a magic-user and nurturer... and nobody in the tribe finds that odd! I love Clearbrook's role as one of the tribe's elders, calm and wise, and the way One-Eye's death shakes her to the root, and the way she gradually regains her center and her wisdom with time. I just think they're both awesome, and would love to see some interaction between them, at any point in the timeframe.

Uncharted: Nathan Drake, Elena Fisher and Chloe Frazer

Original prompt: Uncharted is a newer/more recent fandom of mine. The reason I requested the three characters that I did is that I loved the interactions between Nate, Chloe and Elena in Uncharted 2--I found them all awesome by themselves, but hilarious and completely charming in combination. So while I was glad to see both Elena and Chloe back in Uncharted 3, I was sorry that we never got to see the three of them in the same place at the same time!

So that's what I want. I want snark and cameraderie and adventure with Nate, Chloe and Elena. If you were willing, a Nate/Chloe/Elena OT3 would make me squee like a squeeful thing, but if not, then I'd just be glad to see them all together and interacting. :D The only thing I would prefer not to see is romantic/sexual jealousy or resentment--if two of the characters are paired up and the third isn't a part, that's fine, but I don't want them to be jealous or left out.

If that prompt doesn't float your boat, I hereby give you permission to ignore my requested characters and write a Drake & Sully bonding piece instead! My only request there is that I see Drake & Sully as having a familial rather than romantic relationship, so I'd prefer not to get a Drake/Sully pairing fic.

Uncharted was, to be honest, not a fandom I was expecting to have. I liked the first game, I really liked the second game... and then by the third game I realized that I was totally invested in the characters. It snuck up on me, I guess. ;)

I ended Uncharted 2 with a major Nate/Chloe/Elena OT3, so if you wanted to go that route, I would be delighted! But if that's not something you feel you can do, I would genuinely be thrilled with anything that involved all three of them, whether it was an adventure story or just the three of them swapping stories in a bar. I really like Nate's combination of amused self-deprecation and borderline-obsessive ambition; Chloe's sharp tongue and centered confidence; Elena's intelligence and insistence on doing the right thing. I just want more of them all!

(And if you look at that and go, "Ack! Can't do it!", as I say in my signup, you are welcome to do Nate & Sully bonding or backstory if you'd rather! I just ask that you don't pair them up, as I personally perceive their relationship as father/son-ish instead of pairing-ish.)

Curse Workers Series: Cassel Sharpe

Original prompt: For Curse Workers, I would really be happy with practically anything set in the world. I picked Cassel because I think he's a great character: complex, interesting, conflicted, sympathetic but very much imperfect. I'd be happy with a Cassel-centric character piece or vignette, or if you want to delve into his background that would be fantastic too! Maybe something with his early life, growing up, his family? Or his interactions at school?

If none of that interests you, while I picked out Cassel as a character, I'd be equally happy with a piece about the world in general. I think Holly Black did a great job with building an interesting world and working out its ramifications. If you wanted to do a worldbuilding-centric piece, exploring curse working in some way, I'd love that too.

I first read White Cat last year, and was surprised by how much I loved it. Red Glove only made me more enthusiastic, and I can't wait until the third book is out. :D

I was really taken with Cassel mainly because of how human he is. He's sympathetic and wants to do the right thing without being a goody-goody--and he screws up a lot, too. He's very teenagery that way. ;) I am particularly intrigued by his (really rather sad) family dynamics, and I also love the way he plays off Sam and Daneca, so if you want ideas on other characters to incorporate, feel free to integrate any of them.

One of the things I thought was really interesting and well-done in the books was the worldbuilding, the way curse working is illegal and secretive and yet is so enmeshed in the way society works. I would love a story that explored some of that.

Dragaera: Cawti and Norathar e'Lanya

Original Prompt: Since we see the Vlad-era bits of the Dragaera universe (mostly) from Vlad's point of view, I've always been curious about what Cawti's up to. I'd love a story with Cawti and Norathar, set at basically any point. I'd be happy with an adventure story set when they're the Sword and Dagger of the Jhereg. Or maybe something set after Vlad is on the run and Cawti is raising young Vlad Norathar. While it's not necessary, if you want to play with the tensions between Norathar being the Dragon Heir and Cawti being a revolutionary, that would make me very happy. :D

Gen or pairing-y are both fine for me, and I love worldbuilding details about the Dragaeran Empire, so feel free to work those in as well!

I reread the Dragaera series every few years--it's a series with a really compelling combination of great worldbuilding and well-rounded characters.

When I was thinking of what I wanted to see more of with Dragaera, Cawti and Norathar leapt immediatley to mind. I love their partnership and friendship, and the way it's survived several notable changes in their statuses. I'd be thrilled with a story set at any point: when they're still an assassin team, before Cawti meets Vlad and Norathar finds out who she is; when Cawti and Vlad are married and Norathar is newly-made heir; when Cawti is becoming invovled in the revolution; after Vlad's disappearance. I think there are fascinating things about their relationship at any of those points.

In Conclusion

I've tl;dr-ed, but really, I will be delighted with anything you come up with. Feel free to disregard my ideas and go wild! And thank you in advance. ♥
