We woke up on Sunday morning to a masterfully prepared breakfast - maple cured bacon, English muffins complete with fresh strawberry slices, home-fried potatoes, and a "sweet and spicy" omelette - which had peppers and onions sauteed in cayenne and brown sugar in it... absolutely delicious!
Gratefully, the Lone Oak Inn had great weather, sunny but cool, and we enjoyed the fresh air.
After breakfast, we snuggled up to watch the "Ghost Hunters" marathon on SciFi, a show we LOVE to watch. We even managed to tape record two of our favorite episodes, how nice of the inn to provide us with blank tapes AND a VCR ;)
We just relaxed, enjoyed each other's company, did some crosswords and played solitaire (solitaire with real cards is so much better). I even got to teach Druid how to play "Accordion" the solitaire game my grandfather taught me.
Later in the afternoon, we went for a walk. The neighborhood was nice, lots of trees in bloom, and great little houses to admire. We even encountered the remnants of a yard sale and picked up some free books and fabric - and a wood carving of an Elephant! Squeeeee! We carried them back to the Lone Oak Inn and enjoyed a dinner of a spicy chicken pizza - absolutely delicious. We watched the remainder of the Ghost Hunters marathon and headed home to bed.
The travel time was next to nothing, the food was excellent, the staff friendly and startlingly handsome ;) I'd totally go there again!
Honeymoon at home, taking care of ourselves and taking the time to ENJOY our day and our new marriage? Perfect. We even unplugged the phone.
