hey hey first eljay entry of 08!
becuase i am an enormous dweeb i just read pitchforks top 50 albums of 07. i cannot think of 50 albums i gave a shit about in 07, but i think i can think of like, 5-7, so here's my top 5ish (in ascending order)
7- hissing fauna are you the destroyer- of montreal
6- alive 2007- daft punk
5- cryptograms- deerhunter
4- load blown- black dice
3- mirrored- battles
2- person pitch- panda bear
1- strawberry jam- animal collective
those are my obvious picks, and some great fucking albums might i add.
in other news i got A-s in both of my 1 semester classes and the rest are all in progress but i am feeling good. i am extremely happy to be back in t.o, not too happy to be care-taking for these children, but indeed happy with the excessive pay. enjoying my house, making omlettes, listening to grizzly bear in the living room, chilling-the-fuck-out and reading literature.
my last trip home was extremely taxing and stressful so its good to be up north where i feel more relaxed (even though i have way more responsibilites and less time up here, who knows) i am very very very excited about my christianity in pop culture class, so far we've watched kanye west and u2 vidoes and talked about joel-peter witkin and johnny cash.
friday i think i might just go drop upwards of $50 on concert tickets for these upcoming weeks. i a using un-tapped bat mitzvah money for my new computer, so i think i deserve to live a little
