Yay for something fun to post about!!

Folsom St Fair in San Francisco was fun, busy, eventful, tiring, annoying, exciting & just like every other year, but with less drinking. I met with clients, caught up with good friends, ran into lots and lots of cool acquaintances, made new friends, made out with old friends, made new clients, had my picture taken umpteen times, got felt up a lot, watched the boy get felt up a lot (mostly by hot boys), watched my girl's confidence soar in an amazing outfit, had cute lesbians help me get dressed in the bathroom at the Cat Club (thanks for the boob grab!), ate the best, finger-lickin', moan-enducing tri-tip sandwhich, watched a hot girl chow down on a kilbasa, laughed my ass off, danced a bit, licked salt off a hot chick while doing tequila shots, gossiped worked, played & generally had a blast.

I actually took some time for myself this year and made not one, not two whole outfits! Not all for me though, I'm not quite that greedy. Me, the boy and our girl looked amazing in leather. Yes, I said leather! No latex at all this trip (at least not for me).

I've never worked with leather before, but have a kickass walking foot industrial machine that has been beggin for it for years. I couldn't afford hides so I went thrifting and bought a bunch of old leather jackets and skirts to hack up. I decided on a deconstructed look so if I screwed it up I could make it look intentional. The outfits turned out AWESOME if I do say so myself. I'm really proud of my first leather attempt.

The problem with having your picture taken by so many strangers is that you forget to take your own. I only have a handful of shots and none of the back of our outfits! I spent lots of time making cool peplums & bustles ... ah well. I'll just have to set up a photoshoot, damn. :)

So whithout further ado ... the photos! Oh wait - warning: Lots of costuming jibber jabber to follow. Feel free to just look at the purty pictures.

Our girl: Vest made from a red leather trench & brown skirt, Shorts: brown leather jacket overstitched in red. She has a cute little leather peplum out the back that I spent ages binding in brown leather. Wish I had a pic on her. I'll show ya the back later on the boring little dress form. No cute butt unfortunately.

Me: corset: black patchwork leather jacket, fake ostrich leather skirt, distressed leather bomber jacket. The main part of the hat is the waistband from the bomber jacket. I bought the floor length black leather skirt just for yardage, but then realized when I got home that if I cut off the waistband it actually fit me! So I cut it shorter agrommeted it up and ruched it with leather lacing. I have a big bustle made up of all the cool scraps, snaps, cuffs & pockets from the jackets. Again, dressform pics only. Grrr

The gold bits you can just see a bit of is a cool belly dancing belt with tons of gold jangley, sparkley bits and then I added the  leather army pockets the boy reconditioned then distressed for me (he has on the other half).

Our girl made my boot sashy thingy (need to come up with a cool name for it) It has a rose made out of the zipper from one of the jackets and lots of jangly thrifted chains and charms. It sounded like spurs when I walked, only cooler.

The sunglasses were a last minute addition that I wasn't in love with until I decided to glue a bunch of the left over feathers from my hat onto. Viola - steampunk sunglasses! haha

Amazingly this cool photo spot was right outside our hotel (the Westin on 3rd/Market). Wish we had taken more shots, but as usual we were running late. I want to go back and do a real shoot there sometime. The whole street, both sides, is lined with them.

More pics! Less blather ...

You can almost see the backs of our outfits in this one. Oh! And I borrowed the kickass snood from the sexy chick I was licking with the tequila. heh.

The boy's outfit was acutally made for Burning Man a couple of years ago, but he has only worn it a few times, so it counts as new! His corset is a really cool tweedy pattern that I made to look like a vest. It has working welt pockets for his pocket watch. Unfortunately he forgot it - he lost all his steampunk cred! haha He's also wearing black leather guantlets and cool vintage army spats from the surplus store along with his leather army pockets. I really love the western vibe with the cowboy hat and big filegre belt buckle. Yummy.

And because I know your really here to see boobs and latex - I give you the ample Ava Lanche! She is wearing a Lust Designs ensemble as well. How hot is she?!? You should go see her perform her super cute burlesque routine at the next Hubba Hubba - she really knows how to shake her moneymakers if you know what i mean. Ahem.
