Sometimes, love happens.
It’s not always as distinctive as a flat note in a singer’s voice, or the tang of a foreign accent, masquerading as normal. It creeps up on a person, like spring in the depths of winter, the corking of a priceless wine, the death of an invincible.
Does it make his love unworthy? That it never occurred to him to buy a diamond encrusted dragon statuette? That the Malfoy family’s old ancient power was not invoked to create a trusting bond? Does it matter about the way he proposed? The way his eyes did not shine with unshed tears?
In the end, Harry eats meat and two veg while Draco bitches about the soaring costs of things.
And he feels loved, loved beyond measure. Though, there are no car chases.
